Dreaming in
Bountiful Light
Nina Klymowska was a Ukrainian-American artist, painter, printmaker and educator. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, graduating in 1963.
That same year she held her first solo exhibition in Philadelphia, followed by numerous group shows in the United States and Mexico. Her work entered private collections in New York, Philadelphia, and Great Britain, and she became known for dramatic, large-scale floral paintings that emphasized bold color and visual impact. Klymowska lived and worked in her New York City studio for 47 years.
